Later, Lip tells Ian that they need to go to the Milkovich house, plant a weapon in the house, and get Terry arrested. They wait outside for Terry to leave, but when they finally enter the house and realize there are already a pile of weapons on the coffee table, Terry walks in and chases them both. Later, Lip drives Mandy and her brothers to the store. Iggy and Colin go inside, while Mandy stays in the car with Lip and tries to blow him. Lip sees that her brothers were not intending to do a beer run, but were actually trying to rob the store, and becomes upset. Ian explains that she wasn't happy to hear he got arrested. Later, she expresses more disapproval and tells him that no science project is worth getting arrested for,

The next day, Fiona expresses disapproval of Mandy's tendency to walk around with no pants. At school, Mandy says Fiona doesn't like her, and Lip responds that Fiona is just worried he'll knock her up. Mandy tells him that she isn't her mom, who was only twelve when she got pregnant. After a counselor walks in and talks to Lip about his 4.6 GPA, Mandy is impressed, stating that her GPA is only 1.2.

In The American Dream, Mandy walks around the Gallagher house without pants while everyone watches, and Fiona angrily throws a pair of pants her way. At school, Lip squeezes Mandy's ass and she says she thought he was her teacher. When Lip mentions the money Fiona took out of the property tax, Mandy says that he should be the one in charge of the family's money. Mandy then watches as a teacher tells Lip he should be submitting college applications.

"Please. You and I both know that my only options are getting pregnant or getting arrested. So cut the crap."
―Mandy to Counselor Healy in The American Dream, when he mentions Mandy's future.

Mandy stops by the college counselors office and asks Counselor Healy what Lip should be doing for his future, to which Healy responds that Lip should be keeping his grades up, applying to colleges and finding a real job. Mandy says she may be able to help with that. Later, she talks to Ian, who says that he already attempted to convince Lip to go to college, but it didn't work. Ian then asks Mandy for advice on a boy he likes, and Mandy gladly helps him.

Lip and Mandy are in his room, with Lip stressing over how he'll come up with money for the property tax while Mandy reads multiple college brochures to see if Lip is interested in any. They become distracted with the noises of Fiona and Jimmy having sex in the other room, and when they both agree that it turns them on, they have sex too.

The next day, when Frank barges into the Gallagher house with other drunk men, Mandy helps the family get rid of them, grabbing the men and pushing them out of Debbie's room. When Debbie breaks down after Frank breaks her project and beats Frank with a pillowcase full of soap, Mandy holds Carl while they watch in shock.

After Lip manages to scam enough money for the property tax, Mandy watches from the front porch with a smile as he tells Fiona that maybe he should be in charge of the family money.

In May I Trim Your Hedges?, Mandy watches as Debbie tells police about the man on the bus who exposed himself in front of her. Mandy asks Fiona why she didn't stab the man, and then scoffs at the fact that Fiona rides the city bus without a knife. Mandy later takes Debbie upstairs to learn self defense.

Mandy attempts to have sex with Lip, but upon seeing that he isn't hard and he has no more pubic hair, she quickly realizes that he cheated on her. He tells her that he only had sex with the older woman, Blake Collins, to prove she really was a pedophile, and that he's going to show the evidence to the cops. Mandy storms off and says that the cops had their chance. At the end of the episode, Mandy knocks on Blake's door and tells her that she needs to leave town or else she will be killed. We then see Mandy's brothers digging a large hole in Blake's yard, claiming that the grave is for her. Blake becomes afraid, packs her bags, and leaves. Mandy skips off happily.

"See that? They're digging your grave. And you wanna be gone before they get to six feet. Tick tock, Kid Fucker."
―Mandy to Blake

In The Helpful Gallaghers, Mandy is having sex with Lip when a voicemail from Molly, Mandy's half sister, appears on the home phone. Molly says that her mother died, and she'll be taken to an orphanage if no one comes to get her. Mandy appears distraught at hearing this message. Later, outside, Lip convinces Mandy to find Molly and help her. Mandy hesitates, claiming that the system is better than her house, and emphasizes that Molly is only her half sister, but together they take an old ice cream truck and go see her. Mandy seems uncomfortable on the ride.

When they arrive, Molly gives Mandy a hug, which Mandy does not return. The two question Molly's knowledge of other relatives, but upon confirming that Molly has no one else, they share a look, which prompts Molly to go inside and get a bag full of her things. They visit the house of Mandy's Aunt Rande who let Mandy stay in her home in the past, but Aunt Rande declines because her health is deteriorating and she can't take care of a little kid.

"Your heart's in the right place. You're the best Milkovich there is."
―Aunt Rande to Mandy

With no other options, Mandy and Lip take Molly back to the Gallagher house, much to Fiona's disapproval since their house is already full. While Mandy, Debbie, and Molly go upstairs, Lip begs Fiona to let Molly stay. Fiona asks Lip if he knows what signals he's sending Mandy by saving her little sister. That night, Lip sleeps in his old bed so that Molly and Mandy can share his room, in case Molly freaks out overnight. Mandy, feeling gratitude for Lip, kisses him in the hallway. Fiona watches and gives Lip a knowing look.

In The Sins of My Caretaker, Fiona asks Mandy how long Molly is planning to stay. Mandy rolls her eyes and goes to Lip's bed pantless to wake him up with a kiss. She tries to have sex with him, but he dodges her with excuses. He then asks if she's found any of Molly's relatives. She says she'll take care of it later and puts a hand on his face, but he takes the hand off and asks her when she'll do it. When he leaves, he throws a pair of pants at her and Mandy tries to smile but she seems upset by his constant rejection.

Lip tells Kevin that Mandy has gotten clingy. Kevin tells Lip that with everything Mandy does for him, they are technically ghetto married, and Lip says he kinda hates it.

"You rescued her cross-dressing sibling... Girls take that hero crap straight to the bank. She cook for you now? Fold your clothes? She stay over more than four nights a week? Help you out with random stuff? Ah? Dude, you are ghetto married."
―Kevin about Lip's relationship with Mandy

When Kevin and Lip get to the Gallagher house, Mandy is seen folding Lip's clothes, offers him a drink, and then kisses him. He shares a look with Fiona, and tells her she'll be out in a week. Fiona asks which one. Later, Mandy asks Lip if he wants to get high and watch Family Guy with her and Ian, but Lip rejects the offer. When Fiona comes into the room looking for clothes to wash and Lip has nothing to give her, Mandy mentions she already did their laundry. Fiona tells her that next time she can throw in Debbie, Carl, or Liam's clothes with theirs.

The next day, Lip and Kevin are selling drugs in their ice cream van when Mandy shows up unannounced to offer help. Lip says they're good, but Kevin asks her to roll some spliffs. Lip tells her she can go home, Kevin says she can stay because he's leaving soon, Mandy confirms she can stay, but Lip blows up and tells her she can go home, "to your own fucking house, for once." Mandy's face falls, and she leaves.

At home, when Lip gets a drink from the fridge, Ian confronts him and asks why he's being a dick to Mandy. Ian says that Mandy called from her aunt's house and told him what happened. Lip says she's not his wife, and Ian becomes angry at his comments.

"I'm her best friend. You want out? End it. You don't? Stop treating her like garbage. But just because Karen wiped her ass with you doesn't give you the right to shit on Mandy."
―Ian to Lip

After calling Karen and yelling into her voicemail, Lip goes to find Mandy and apologize. She tells him that she isn't a tool, so he doesn't get to treat her like one. After, they go to a field and set off fireworks. Mandy looks at Lip while Lip looks at the explosions.

In a deleted scene, Molly's mom enters the Gallagher house with Mandy to pick up Molly, claiming that Molly is a runner and gets an allowance. Mandy is shocked when she finds out from Fiona that the kids were taken into foster care.

In Cascading Failures, Mandy finds Lip doing his community service and tells him about Molly. He asks why Mandy just let Molly's mom take her because if she ran it was for a good reason. Mandy dismisses this, claiming that she herself used to run away all the time when she was little. Mandy then says she let Mickey have the house to himself for the night, and asks Lip if she can stay with him. When he says no, she looks down, upset. Lip feels bad and decides that he'll figure out how to sneak her into the group home he's staying in. When he sneaks her in, they have sex in a private room.

In Long Way From Home, Mandy tags along with Ian and Lip while they get a will notarized. Ian asks Mandy about Mickey's whereabouts, and Mandy says that Terry pistol-whipped him. Mandy then asks Lip if he's signed up for the SAT because the deadline is tomorrow. He tells her he'll do it online, but then tells Ian he's not taking it unless someone is paying him. Mandy later accompanies Lip to visit Carl and Liam in their foster home, and she can be seen playing with Liam in the background. She then goes with Lip to get the will filed, and then attends the Gallagher's custody battle. She cheers when Fiona becomes legal guardian of her siblings.

In Where There's a Will, Mandy gives Lip a blowjob, but it's interrupted by Ian, who nods for Lip to head to the L, where Lip sees that Karen, his ex-girlfriend, has returned. He does not tell Mandy about this.

Later, Debbie walks down the stairs wearing slightly revealing clothes, and when Fiona becomes upset, Debbie says that she borrowed the outfit from Mandy. Fiona tells her to change. Mandy becomes upset with Fiona's disapproval and goes to the bathroom. While she's there, Veronica asks Fiona if Lip is getting serious about "Mandy Skankovich". Mandy hears this, is hurt, and walks up the stairs.

That night, Fiona gets home from work to see Mandy, Debbie, Lip, Ian and Carl plotting around a table to fix the issue of Patrick trying to take the Gallagher house. Mandy offers to get her brothers to scare Patrick, and says that if she helps Mickey move some meth the next week, he'll give a discount beating. Fiona objects at first, but then throws some money at the table and the rest follow. The next day when Mickey's threat doesn't work, Fiona asks if they'll get their money back, to which Mandy responds, "Minus a hundred. He took a chain off Mickey,"

Karen confronts Mandy at school and tells her that she talked to Lip, and taunts Mandy. Mandy walks off, and later Lip finds her sitting on his bed. She tells him that she doesn't want to be somewhere she isn't wanted, so if he wants her to leave then he should man up. Lip tells her that he does have a problem with her being there, because they never had a conversation about their relationship and he never told her that she was his wife. Mandy says she doesn't deserve this, and walks out. Lip then goes to Karen's house and has sex with her.

In Frank the Plumber, Mandy walks in to the Gallagher house to get her things. Her entrance is awkward, and she rushes up the stairs quickly. Lip asks if it's wrong for him to just go to school, but after a look from Ian he heads up the stairs to talk to Mandy. He tells her that he only meant a little of what he said. After they kiss, Mandy tells him that he as an appointment with MIT. Lip hesitates, because he never applied for MIT, but Mandy tells him that she applied on behalf of him, as well as Carnegie Mellon, Northwestern, Columbia, Stanford, and Penn University.

Mandy and Lip argue in the school hallways, Lip saying that Mandy is not his wife and isn't in charge of if he goes to college. Mandy asks Ian if he's right, and then says that she won't let Lip fuck up his life the way her brother is.

"Think he's right? Men are never right. That's why women were invented, to think for you assholes. I mean, look at Mickey, marrying some whore he knocked up. Men are weak and stupid, even the good ones. Especially the good ones, and I'm not gonna watch Lip fuck up his life the way that Mickey's fucking up his."
―Mandy to Ian

Lip can later be seen having sex with Karen in a bathroom stall. Karen laughs at the fact that Mandy applied to colleges for Lip and asks him why he doesn't just dump her. Lip doesn't respond. Later, Mandy confronts Lip back at the Gallagher house about the things she did to get his applications in, and says he might even want to say thank you. They end up having sex. Later, Mandy pours her heart out to Lip.

"No one's ever been as good to me as you have. You're better than this neighborhood. You're better than anyone I've ever met, and you deserve to get out. Even if you don't take me with you... Which I never really thought you would, anyway."
―Mandy to Lip

The confession seems to hit Lip, and he goes to Karen's house and tells her that he plans on being serious with Mandy. Karen becomes upset and calls Mandy, tells her that all she has to do is pop a hole in a condom and she'll have Lip to herself again. Mandy hangs up, distraught. Karen later receives a message from Lip's phone number, asking her to meet at a park. Karen, excited, rushes to meet him, but is hit by a car.

At the end of the episode, Mandy is seen cleaning blood off of a car. Mickey advises her to check for hair behind the grill and call someone about fixing the windshield.

In Civil Wrongs, Mandy and Lip are attempting to have sex, but Lip can't focus. He apologizes, and she's understanding until he admits that he's thinking of Karen, who's in a coma. Mandy becomes nervous and says she's late for school, but they can have sex there at lunch. Lip says he may not be there by lunch, because he plans on giving Karen a visit, much to Mandy's unease. When Mandy leaves, she asks Debbie why Lip is so hung up on Karen, and Debbie says she doesn't know. When Lip comes down the stairs, Debbie tells him that he's taking Mandy for granted.

"You're taking Mandy for granted. She's kind, she's devoted. She's not someone who's feelings you can ignore. So stop being a dope and put her feelings first every once in a while."
―Debbie to Lip about Mandy

On the train, Mandy answers Ian's questions about the marriage between Mickey and Svetlana, admitting she doesn't know how long they were together beforehand. The next day, Mandy stops by the van at the Gallagher house, where Lip's is withdrawn due to seeing how bad in shape Karen is. Mandy asks if she can come over later because she misses him. They share a kiss, and Mandy walks off with a smile but Lip still seems down.

In the hospital, Lip talks to Karen's mom, Sheila, and looks at Karen's phone. He sees the last message before her accident and knows that Mandy is the one who sent it. When Mandy comes by later that night and sneaks into his bed, he pretends he's asleep so she won't have sex with him. She lies down next to him instead, and he stays with his eyes open, deep in thought.

In Order Room Service, Lip is seen sleeping on the couch. Mandy wakes him up and straddles him, saying that she's going to steal tater tots from the cafeteria for Mickey's wedding. She kisses him and runs up the stairs to shower. When she gets out of the shower in a towel, she asks if Lip is coming with her, but he tells her that he promised Sheila he'd stop by her house to help Karen settle. Ian says he'll help instead. When he leaves, Mandy says she doesn't understand why Lip has to go over there, and he explains that she has frontal lobe damage, can't walk, and that whoever hit her probably got away without a scratch.

Lip goes to Kevin's house and explains his theory that Mandy hit Karen with her car. Kevin tells him that he needs to get out of that relationship slowly and cannot say anything about going to visit Karen. He then tells Lip to not have any sex with Mandy, and make up any excuse he can. At the wedding venue, Ian continues to ask questions about Svetlana and Mickey's relationship, while Mandy complains about Karen and Lip's relationship.

The next day when the house is empty, Lip continues to ignore Mandy as well as he can, considering she still lives in their home. Desperate, Mandy shoves Lip onto the floor and assaults him. Later, Lip calls Kevin from the bathroom and tells Kevin that he messed up, and "let her bone me." Outside of the bathroom Mandy complains that she doesn't like her dress, and when Lip makes quick and dry comments, she opens the bathroom door and asks desperately what's wrong. When his answer doesn't satisfy her, she says he shouldn't bother coming to the wedding, and stomps upstairs.

At the wedding venue, Mandy walks in on Ian and Mickey having a heated argument but thinks nothing of it, inviting Ian to watch the ceremony.

Lip goes to Karen's house and attempts to jog her memory of the accident, trying to remind Karen that Mandy is the one who hit her and gave her brain damage, but since Karen cannot form any new memories, he becomes frustrated and goes to the wedding venue. When he finds Mandy, she kisses him, but he shoves her off and screams in her face about ruining Karen's life. He calls her a jealous and demented cunt, and says their relationship is done.

"I did it for you, you prick. I did everything for you but you're so fucking blind."
―Mandy to Lip

Mandy then shows Lip that they were over before he came, because she blew a man named Kenyatta before Lip got there. Ian interrupts their argument, drunk and upset over the wedding. He blurts out in a fit of rage that he and Mickey have been fucking, and Mandy's face drops in shock.

In Survival of the Fittest, Ian stops by the Milkovich house. He's running away to join the army, and wanted to say goodbye to Mandy before he left. She goes to her room to get some Nitrous, and overhears Mickey and Ian's last conversation where Mickey cannot admit his feelings. When Ian walks into the hallway, Mandy says she has the Nitrous and will meet him outside. Then she asks Mickey if that's all he's going to say to Ian, and calls him a pussy.

At the end of the episode, Lip knocks on the Milkovich door. He tells Mandy that he got into MIT, and it wouldn't have happened if it weren't for her. He finally thanks her, which was all she wanted the entire season, and she smiles.

Season 4[]

In Simple Pleasures, Debbie stops by the Milkovich house and asks Mandy if she's heard from Ian since he went missing, and Mandy says she hasn't. Debbie then brings up Lip doing well in college. Mandy says, "good for him" and closes the door in Debbie's face. Back in the house, she sits at the table with Kenyatta, Mickey, Colin, Terry and Svetlana as they eat. When Mickey asks who was at the door, Mandy says Debbie was looking for Ian, and quietly says Lip is doing well in college.

Mandy can be seen looking through old photos of her and Lip with a sad look on her face, but Kenyatta asks if she's okay, and then they have sex.

In Strangers on a Train, Mandy can be seen eating cereal and rolling her eyes at the comments Mickey and Terry make about the sex workers who are loudly chatting in the living room due to Mickey's arrogance. Debbie appears at the front door asking for Mandy. In Mandy's room, Debbie asks her for advice because Mandy is the only one who understands being a teenage girl. Mandy suggests that 13 year old Debbie send a 20 year old Matty some suggestive pictures so they can have sex.

Later, Lip shows up at the house while Mandy is preparing to leave and tells her that he smashed cars at school and it reminded him of her. Mandy says, "Random destruction makes you think of me?" to which Lip responds that it was beautiful. He says he wanted to call her multiple times, and that he missed her.

They have sex, and then Mandy asks if he has any cash because she needs the morning after pill since she may be ovulating. Lip says she should skip it, and that "having a ghetto rugrat running around wouldn't be the worst thing in the world." Mandy's face falls, and she says it isn't funny. When he insists he's serious, she becomes more upset, stating she doesn't need to be left behind carrying his bastard child while he's away at college.

When Lip says there won't be any more college and starts to put his pants back on, Mandy begins to argue because she sacrificed a lot to get him into the school. Lip says he just came to have some fun, and Mandy asks if he thinks he can just hop on the L and knock her up whenever he feels like shit. Lip says it was his mistake, and it won't happen again. Mandy calls him a shithead, Lip calls her a skank, and she punches him in the face. He takes his clothes and leaves.

In There's the Rub, Debbie asks Lip that if the sex between him and Mandy wasn't the problem in their relationship, then what was it? Lip answers, "Everything else." Meanwhile Mandy, at the Milkovich house, walks in on Kenyatta cheating on her with one of the sex workers that Mickey has in the house. There are sounds of glass breaking and people screaming, and then Mandy appears with a hammer and points it at Mickey, claiming that this is his fault. Then she chases Kenyatta who ran out the back,

"I'm practically tripping over these bitches, I want them gone, now! I was gone ten fucking minutes!"
―Mandy to Mickey

Debbie later asks Mandy if she knows Ian's whereabouts, and Mandy gives her the name of the old man Ian was groomed by.

In Iron City, Mandy watches as Terry struggles against another arrest. When Lip stops by, she explains that Terry broke parole, and they continue to let him out because of overcrowding. Lip tells Mandy about how Liam is in the hospital and Fiona was arrested, and Mandy looks concerned. He asks Mandy if she can let Ian know about the situation, to which Mandy ensures she will. Kenyatta appears at the door and tells Mandy to come inside, so she follows, but not before Lip can thank her once again.

In A Jailbird, Invalid, Martyr, Cutter, Retard, And Parasitic Twin, Mandy gets ready for work at a diner named Waffle Cottage. Before she leaves, she asks Mickey to go look for Ian, because she's called and looked for him but she can't get ahold of him. When Mickey says it isn't his problem, she takes his cigarette and says he should make something his problem for once.

"Don't play dumb with me. Ian. You know you're the reason that he left? So go find him! I gotta get to work."
―Mandy to Mickey

In Hope Springs Paternal, Mandy shows up to the Gallagher house and has stinted conversation with Lip, and then asks where Mickey is. When Mickey appears in the kitchen, she tells him that Svetlana is giving birth to his baby and they need to get to the hospital. Mickey is dismissive, stating he has to get to work and he doesn't even know if the kid is his. Mandy insists it isn't the baby's fault that they're a shit show, but Mickey doesn't budge. Mandy calls him an asshole, and leaves.

In The Legend of Bonnie & Carl, Ian stops by the Milkovich house to bring clothes for Svetlana's baby. Mandy looks over at Kenyatta nervously before asking Ian if Lip is at home. When Ian leaves, Mandy looks at Kenyatta again but shrinks when he turns to her. Later, Mandy eats dinner with the Gallaghers and tells Debbie she feels bad for whatever girl is on a date with Matty, because the girl doesn't know she messed with Debbie Gallagher.

Kenyatta goes looking for Lip, learning from Mickey that he's at college. He goes to Lip's dorm room, finds his class, and chases him around the entire school. Kenyatta is taken by campus security. When Mickey gets home that night, he asks Kenyatta if he found Lip, but Kenyatta ignores his question and shoves him aside. Mickey continues to his room to grab clothes, and when he goes to the bathroom, he finds Mandy with blood on her face and all over the sink. She closes the door quickly.

In Liver, I Hardly Know Her, Mandy is staying with the Gallaghers. She has bruises all over her face, but doesn't want to talk about it. Ian insists she isn't going back to the house.

When Mandy is getting ready for work, Debbie is impressed by how easily Mandy was able to conceal bruises with makeup, and Mandy comments that living with Terry brought out the artist in her. Before leaving, Mandy tells Debbie that if a man ever hits her, she should take her shiv and jam it into his eye. Lip shows up, asking what happened to Mandy's face, but she doesn't tell him and simply flips him off.

"It's not the first time a boyfriend has beaten the crap out of me, but it's definitely the last."
―Mandy to Debbie

When Ian and Mickey stop by the Milkovich house, they see that Mandy is back with Kenyatta, and she's cooking for him. Kenyatta sits at the table, smug, and Mandy insists that she lied about his abuse due to anger. Mickey walks off, but Ian tries to plead with Mandy that she deserves better. Mandy becomes upset that Ian won't stop grabbing her, so she hits him, which causes Kenyatta to stand up. When he stands, Ian grabs a knife and puts it to his throat. After Mickey calms Ian down and they leave, Mandy can be seen scared and on the verge of tears.

In Lazarus, Svetlana comes out to Mickey, and checks Mandy out to prove her point. Later, when Mickey is frustrated due to the fact that Ian won't get out of bed, Mandy stands by the door, worried for her best friend.

Lip shows up to the Waffle Cottage with his new girlfriend while Mandy is working. She pours drinks for them and makes eye contact with Lip, but then goes back to the counter. Lip follows after her. He tries to have a conversation, but she keeps it professional and asks if he wants more sugar. When he leaves, she seems sad.

The next morning, Fiona comes to the Milkovich house in an attempt to get Ian out of bed, but she fails to do so, just as his other siblings did before. Fiona tells them that Ian may have Bipolar Disorder like their mother. Mickey doesn't know what that is, but Mandy puts a hand on his shoulder and tells him it's manic depression.

Season 5[]

Mandy's personality has changed due to her time with Kenyatta; she is much more withdrawn and submissive, not challenging him when he says that they are moving to Indiana despite Ian's angry protests. Ian tells Lip to convince Mandy to stay so that they can get her away from Kenyatta and keep her safe. Lip meets with her and ends up having sex with her, during which she (in tears) says she loves him. Lip says nothing in response, and when Lip comes get her for breakfast Mandy is gone, headed to Indiana with Kenyatta.

Mandy also starts to see Ian has bipolar disorder, something that she has to explain to Mickey is a mental illness.

Season 6[]

Mandy returns and reveals having escaped Kenyatta and secretly moved back to South Side, where she takes a job at an escort agency, that also provides housing for her. However, when she murders a client who tried to strangle her in the heat of the moment, she calls Ian to help her get rid of the corpse. Ian talks her into confessing to the police instead, and as a result, Mandy gets out of the situation without conviction. Ian tries to persuade Mandy into quitting her job, but she assures that, despite the negative aspects and risks of the job, she's able to live more comfortably than she did before and experience better things. As a result, she continues to work for the agency; however, Ian does not judge her, and they remain close friends.

She tenaciously tries to avoid Lip throughout the entire episode. When their ways coincidentally do cross, she flees the situation almost immediately.

Season 10[]

In Sparky, Lip lists Mandy as one of his crazy romantic partners to Ian when discussing how Gallagher men attract odd partners.

In "Gallavich!", she becomes Ian's sister-in-law following his marriage to Mickey. She is not present at the wedding however.

Personality[]

Mandy is just as tough, manipulative, rebellious, and promiscuous as Karen, but unlike her is unable to conceal it and does not care to, as she comes from a criminal and abusive home whereas Karen is middle class. She has casual sex with many people and will go to extreme lengths to get revenge if people genuinely wrong her. Like her brothers, this harsh exterior was formed from years of living with their abusive and very dangerous father. She often displayed callous indifference to her "sister's" plight in Season 3, although it later turned out that her opinion was vindicated. Like her brothers, she does not seem to care where she is going in life, nor is she afraid to use extreme violence or coercion; she pulled a shotgun on her father to protect Ian in Season 2 and rammed Karen with a car in Season 3.

Unlike Karen, however; Mandy has a softer side beneath her indifferent exterior -- she is much less selfish than Karen. When she discovers Ian's sexuality, she offers to act as his beard so he can avoid suspicion (although this leads to trouble later on with her father). As her relationship with Lip develops in Season 3, she commits many selfless acts to make Lip's life easier (especially filling out applications to colleges for him when he ignores them) and becomes hurt when he acts offended by her perceived clinginess. Mandy later confesses to Lip that he treats her better than anyone else and deserves to go to the colleges even if it meant they would be apart; Lip is visibly moved by this. She also acted protective of Debbie Gallagher and offered to teach her self-defense 'Milkovich style' (i.e. with a half-length nightstick).
