Christopher Paul Bisson was born on July 21, 1975, in Wythenshawe, Manchester. He is an actor, best known for playing Jai Sharma in the ITV soap-opera Emmerdale since 2009. He previously played Vikram Desai in Coronation Street, Kash Karib in Shameless and JJ in Children's Ward.

Chris went on to appear in Prime Suspect and Holby City and played Vikram Desai in Coronation Street, Kash Karib in Shameless and currently portrays businessman Jai Sharma in Emmerdale.
Chris appeared in Perfect Day: The Wedding, Perfect Day: The Funeral and the feature film Stepdad. He participated in the Channel 4 documentary Empire's Children.
He has appeared on the Valentine's Day 2009 episode of Casualty, and on the latest season of Hotel Babylon. He returned to make a one-off appearance in Shameless in April 2009.
In September 2009, Chris joined the cast of Emmerdale as part of the newly cast Sharma family, playing Jai Sharma. Chris temporarily departed Emmerdale on January 24, 2013, due to the birth of his child. He later returned at the end of March 2013.
