Remember Me is the first episode in the sixth series of Shameless. It focused on the life of Ian Gallagher and saw him temporarily leave Chatsworth.

Synopsis[]

The dysfunctional Gallagher clan return for more outrageous misadventures. Ian is attacked and left shaken and confused as to what he could have done to provoke it. When the stranger strikes again, Ian is left hospitalised and there's more bad news when he regains consciousness: he's got amnesia. Suddenly he's an alien amongst his own family and friends, and even his own sexuality is a mystery.

Plot[]

Meanwhile it's Debbie's 16th birthday. Tom decides it's time to go public with their relationship, but Debbie has doubts about whether they ever really had one...

Kelly has bad news for Shane about her pregnancy, and Frank and Monica are faced with an impossible challenge over newborn baby Stella.

And Ian's amnesia brings him a whole new perspective on his life, leaving him questioning if Chatsworth is the place for him after all.

Post Credit Scene
The camera is zoomed in on Paddy's face as he says "you didn't see that one coming, did you?" The camera cuts to the head of as she looks around, appearing scared. The camera zooms out to reveal that Caley Quigley is buried with only her head above ground, Paddy is standing above her with Shane and Micky who are both holding shovels. Caley screams variations of "lads, you can't leave me here" as the Maguires walk away, doing just that. This is of course, revenge on the apparently psychic Caley who earlier in the episode claimed Kelly was pregnant with a boy when she was in fact suffering from a phantom pregnancy.

  • Narrator: Stella Gallagher. In a turn for the bizarre and less serious, the voice of Kelly Condron is used for Stella, who has apparently become telepathic for the episode.
  • Debbie turns 16.
  • The UK Smoking Ban is referenced at the beginning of the episode, with a beaten down and bored Jamie Maguire announcing that everyone could ignore the ban and smoke inside The Jockey due to every single customer staying outside.
  • Features the temporary departure of Ian Gallagher.
