Synopsis[]

A sad and lonely Debbie steals a little boy from a birthday party, forcing the family to scheme a way to return him without drawing the attention of the Chicago PD; a web of lies ends in a marriage proposal from Kevin; Karen reacts when Eddie moves back in.

Plot[]

Eddie Jackson returns to the Jackson house, much to the surprise of Frank, Karen and Sheila. Eddie joins the family for breakfast and reveals that he can’t afford to live somewhere else while continuing to support his family. Still angry over his previous actions, Karen and Sheila continue to act coldly towards Eddie. Wanting to get back at her father, Karen begins to flirt with Frank, who is uncomfortable.

At the Gallagher house, Fiona and Steve discover a little boy named Casey dressed up as a girl sitting in Debbie’s room. It is revealed that Debbie, depressed from Aunt Ginger’s departure, had stolen the little boy from a birthday party near Sheila's house by luring him out of the front yard with a candy bar. Unfortunately, it is too late to return Casey; the town has already gone into a frenzy over Casey’s disappearance, and Tony reveals that an investigation and Amber Alert have already been filed.

While trying to figure out a solution, Fiona drops off Casey at Kevin and Veronica’s house, though she does not inform them that Casey is the missing child; they eventually find out the truth through the police investigation. Fiona and Steve go out to buy a Superman suit, which Casey had been wearing at the birthday party; Debbie had accidentally shrunk the original Superman suit in the dryer. In the process, Fiona catches up with Lip and Ian and informs them of the kidnapping.

The Gallaghers (plus Kevin and Veronica) convene at the Gallagher house to try to come up with a plan. Steve suggests that Debbie should attend therapy, but Fiona rejects the idea. Lip ultimately comes up with a plan to return Casey without drawing the attention of the public or police. He fabricates a story in which Debbie spots Casey walking down the street alone and decides to walk him home. He enlists Carl, Kevin and Veronica to call the police and report instances of a little boy walking down different areas of Chicago, while Fiona and Steve coach Debbie on what to say.

At the Jackson house, Karen again tries to seduce Frank by taking a bath and purposely opening the shower curtain when Frank walks in. Frank apologizes and immediately leaves the room. Ashamed at seeing Karen naked, Frank walks to the Alibi. At the Alibi, Kevin chats with Veronica’s mother, Carol Fisher, who is drinking with her friends. When a drunk girl tries to flirt with Kevin and asks if they want to have sex, Kevin lies and claims he’s getting married to Veronica. Frank overhears this and loudly celebrates the news to the whole bar, to Kevin's dismay. Overjoyed by the news, Carol tearfully embraces Kevin. Kevin walks home and drunkenly proposes to Veronica; she happily accepts.

After meeting with Fiona at the rendezvous spot, Debbie walks Casey back to his house, and Casey gets reunited with his parents. Thankful for Casey's return, Casey's parents and neighbors give Debbie lots of cash. Debbie’s interview with the police is successful, and Tony offers to drive Fiona and Debbie from the police station; Tony tries to confront Fiona over why she declined his dinner invitation the previous week.

Returning to the Gallagher house, Steve buys Debbie a baby doll, as a gift for her hard work. Debbie names the baby doll Gin-Gin. Fiona and Steve contemplate the events of the day; Fiona looks upset, expressing to Steve, "I hope I'm not fucking up the kids." Kevin and Veronica arrive at the house and announce their engagement. The Gallaghers throw a party to celebrate, and Debbie reveals that she has used her cash to buy a new water heater for the Gallagher house. Everyone seems happy, but Fiona encounters a big problem: Kevin reveals to her that he’s already married.
