Well it seems the time has come. Shameless UK's eleventh series (which will air in 2013, the shows 10th year in production) is to be the last. Recently the declining ratings and ever-lowering quality has had a lot of fans saying it's time to draw the curtains and move on and it seems that coupled with other events has convinced both Channel 4 and show creator and executive producer Paul Abbott.

Abbott, who is storylining the final series, had this to say on the subject:

So I've never really used these blog entries for anything other than show or site news, with a bit of my own opinion throws in but I decided to write this entry to add to the unsettling feeling about Series 10.

So to recap, instead of Series 9 of Shameless UK having 22 episodes shown in two halves of 11 it was rather randomly decided to air the second half as Series 10. Episode 10.1 aired Wednesday the 12 September at 10PM on Channel 4 and received rather extreme reviews from viewers within the online community with the general feeling that the quality of the show has been slipping constantly and should have ended before now.

I just thought I'd remind everyone that Series 10 of Shameless UK will start this Wednesday (September 12th) at 10.00PM on Channel 4.

Now if your anything like me your confused to hear this news. Surely I mean part 2 of Series 9? Nope, for some reason the powers that be decided that Series 9's intended run of 22 episodes (two halves of 11 like Series 8) would be abandoned and Series 10 started.

I haven't been able to track down a reason for this decision, which I find rather odd, but I guess we'll just roll with the punches. Watch out for spoilers below.

As people may have noticed, I haven't really been around lately. Unfortunately I haven't had chance to do anything with the Wiki due to training for a new job. I have my interview toward the end of August and if I get the job or of course if I don't, things will settle down again and I'll have time to take a crack at fixing this place up again.

I'm sure the second half of Shameless UK's Series 9 will be starting soon as well.

So basically, bear with my absence for now and it won't be forever. I'll do what I can until the end of the month, which quite frankly may be nothing but by the beginning of next month I should be back with some regularity.

So all our recent hard work has payed off as my spotlight request has been approved. Spotlights usually occure around 2 weeks after being approved, ours was approved March 1st so it should be happening around the 15th :)

Since Series 9 and Season 2 are both airing at the moment it's the perfect time for a spotlight, and will hopefully draw in some more US fans as our pages for Shameless (US) are horribly small or non existent.

Well I'm back. I shall be continuing to anti tornado (the whirlwind that builds rather than destroys lol) my way through the episode pages starting tomorrow (took me most of today and to add everything back to my laptop due to the new HDD).

I'd also like to thank the person that took Micky Maguire off the character list on the main page. I knew it had to be done as there was either Billy Tutton or Dominic Meak to add in his place but I couldn't bring myself to take him down. So I've been rather horriby ill for the past 2 weeks or so, haven't even had chance to watch the last 2 episodes of Series 9 (which I'm about to do now) or any of the US show. So if I missed anything that required cleaning up etc then I'm sorry, but that's the evil of having no one else interested in a position of power here lol.

So both Series 9 of Shameless and Season 2 of it's US version are under way now, meaning a new work load for the Wiki :P I'm trying to scramble the Wiki together a little faster than usual because I'd like to take advantage of a both shows airing together by getting our Wiki featured. We're not quite up to standard for it, but we will be soon.

Well Christmas and the New Year that is 2012 doth aproach. First I'd like to say thank you to our few diehard editors and our loyal readers, who make the hours and hours I sink into this wiki worthwhile :) We're pretty close to out 200+ goal to be eligible for featured wiki status too.

Now with Christmas aproaching I really don't have the time to be stopping by and editing as much as usual, as my huge decline in recent times has shown. I will however be going into overdrive just after Xmas as January is fast aproaching which means the start of the UK version of Shameless' Season 2, which is the key to us getting featured and pulling in a new chrowd of visitors. Well we've had a nice chunk of information on Series 9 thanks to Channel 4's recent press release (thanks to Infinitellamas for pointing it out) and I've added everything I know to the Series 9 page along with details from said press release. Spoiler warning obviously, everything sounds to be quite crazily up in the air with the story line, rather shocking changes are afoot.

Well it seems that despite the fact that Series 8 of Shameless is nearing it's end here in the UK, this wiki hasn't seen the traffic I'd hoped. But Series 2 of the US version is beginning at the start of the new year, so if we can get a spotlight/feature for the wiki around that time we should really capitalize and draw in some users.

So basicaly we need to get the Wiki up to scratch before we can even apply. This means that we need (red for things we haven't done yet, green for goals we have):

Well the 100th Episode aired this Tuesday on E4 and will air next Tuesday on Channel 4. Anyone afraid of spoilers please don't read ahead. As we knew, Dean Lennox Kelly returned as Kevin Ball to help save Frank from his worst jam yet. The episode stands as the longest yet I believe, at just under 1 hour 15 minutes and was definitely up to a better standard than some from the last few series, it also didn't have a Post Credit Scene which I think is a first.

Well, this coming Tuesday night on Channel 4 Jack Deam will be returning as Marty Fisher. If you watch the show a week earlier on E4 like myself, you'll have already seen this. I was rather happily surprised personally that it doesn't seem he's going to be leaving again straight away.

Well people, I realize we are veeeery few at the moment, and a lot of users don't even have accounts so I'll make this brief.

As has been stated elsewhere I'm doing my best to bring this Wiki up to standard. Shameless Wiki was started by someone 3 years ago and has lived it's life a skeleton, with brief and few pages stocked with badly writen, un-wikified and short pages. But as a huge fan of both Shameless and Wikia's I adopted this place to turn it into a usefull source of infomation for Shameless fans.
